To achieve these objectives Sterling Group has appointed a designated member of the staff to be responsible for occupational health and safety; to provide healthy and safe workplace; to constantly review company’s procedures; to liaise with appropriate health and safety authorities wherever necessary; to keep the company up-to-date with new legislation, regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with the law.
The company’s employees, as a part of their contracts of employment, agree to comply with their individual duties under the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and any local legislative requirements, and to cooperate with their employer to enable pursuance of its health and safety duties. Failure to comply with health and safety duties, regulations, work rules and procedures regarding health and safety, on the part of any employee, may lead to dismissal, in the case of serious or repeated breaches. Such dismissals may be instant and without prior warning.
Sterling Group will comply with its duties toward employees under local legislative requirements and OHSAS 18001:2007 as far as reasonably practicable in order to:
