The objectives of H&S Management are as follows:
- To develop and maintain effective H&S Management System;
- To periodically publish key H&S objectives and report performance;
- To identify health and safety hazards arising from the company’s business, assets and associated risks;
- To develop and maintain effective contingency plans where appropriate in conjunction with the authorities and emergency services;
- To comply as a minimum with legislation and associated codes of practice and where reasonably practicable improve on the specified performance standards;
- To continuously improve the company’s health and safety performance so that work-related ill health and accidents/incidents are reduced to zero; environmental emissions, waste and the use of energy are decreased to minimum and lessons are learnt to prevent a recurrence;
- To involve and consult employees and, where appropriate, their representatives;
- To provide information, instructions, trainings and supervision to enable employees to meet their obligations to manage and work with due consideration of the health and safety of others and the environment;
- To co-operate with the relevant enforcement agencies and work with industrial and external bodies to further the understanding and development of H&S management and practice;
- To require contractors and partners to demonstrate the same level of commitment to continuous improvement in standards of H&S performance;
- To understand and take into account health and safety concerns of the staff, customers, shareholders and local community;
- To make available appropriate resources to implement H&S Policy;
- To ensure compliance with the Policy through a process of education, review and audit to secure continuous improvement.
